A.J. Allmendinger's 2003 Atlantic season was like a dream, a record-breaking dream. Allmendinger (left), an Atlantic rookie, won seven times in 12 races, and led 168 of a possible 458 laps for the year. Just as impressive, he was running at the finish 11 times. He finished the year with 201 points, 26 ahead of the runner-up.
That would be Ryan Dalziel, who didn't have a bad year himself. Dalziel, too, was running at the finish in all but one race, and scored two wins.
