A conference scheduled for February in Orlando, Fla., will bring together researchers in the field of handling wood treated with chromated copper arsenate (CCA). The presenters will share research results and attempt to develop a research agenda for future studies.

The Environmental Impacts of Preservative Treated Wood conference has been scheduled for Feb. 8-11 at the Orlando Airport Marriott.

Some CCA-treated wood can contain elevated concentrations of arsenic and chromium, making it undesirable in scrap wood streams and un-lined landfills.
