Infosys Technologies Ltd. is riding the crest of a tidal wave it helped launch: offshore outsourcing.
It's among a handful of pioneering, India-based tech service firms that have turned the industry upside down with their new low-cost, global delivery approach.
Such companies rely on India's huge pool of educated, English-speaking workers to slash the costs of writing software and managing business processes.
Dramatic labor savings have quickly made the outsourcing craze "irreversible," said analyst Rita Terdiman of Gartner Inc.
