Cadillac reunion
Former Cadillac prototype driver Max Angelelli will spearhead two General Motors race programs in 2004. Angelelli has signed with Wayne Taylor's new SunTrust Racing team for an attack on Grand-Am's Daytona Prototype division with a Chevrolet-powered Riley & Scott. He will also race a Cadillac CTS-V built by Pratt & Miller for the Speed GT Challenge.
Taylor and Angelelli last week announced the renewal of a partnership that dates back to 1999 when they ran the American Le Mans Series in a Risi Ferrari. Meanwhile, the Cadillac program has been confirmed but will not be announced until the Detroit auto show in January. Taylor and Angelelli will share the R&S-Chevrolet MkXI. "Max will be joining me for the full season and Emmanuel [Collard] will be coming on board for Daytona,'' said Taylor.
Audi UK will run Le Mans
Audi Sport UK, British importer for the German automaker, will run the Le Mans 24 Hour and the inaugural Le Mans Endurance Series next year with an Audi R8 sports car. The 2002-spec R8 will be prepared by Audi Sport UK's new motorsport partner, Veloqx Motorsport.
Audi Sport UK will also run the Sebring 12 Hour on March 20, following a winter in which the Veloqx team will familiarize itself with the LMP900-class Audi.
