For $700, signs on to EDI network operated by GE Information Systems for 60 ports, lines, forwarders.

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey is marketing its electronic data system to other ports, making possible a single international network linking ports, carriers and shippers.

The Automated Cargo Expediting System (ACES) of oceanborne cargo information is operated and maintained for the port by General Electric Information Services (GEIS).
