Call it Showroom Stock B, NASCAR-style. The biggest controversy at this year's SCCA Valvoline Runoffs had nothing to do with events during 24 national championship races 'round the tricky sports car course at Mid-Ohio. It came down to a "clerical error'' back in January at club headquarters.
The discord centered on disqualification of the new BMW Z4 2.5. Through the summer, SSB racers Jim Leithauser, T.C. Kline and David Nielsen had run Z3s at national events to qualify for the Runoffs.
