IDX Systems cleared a short six-week base on double average volume. Shares of the medical software maker closed at a two-year high, but are still trading within 3% of their Oct. 17 pivot point.
The Burlington, Vt.-based firm on Oct. 23 met forecasts with a third-quarter profit of 19 cents a share, up 46% from the prior year. First Call analysts expect a 29% rise to 22 cents in the fourth quarter. Jefferies & Co. and Raymond James boosted their ratings on IDX the next day.
