2003 NOV 5 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- BioVex, Ltd., announced the completion of a UKP 17 million (U.S. $28 million) private placement.
The placement was led by Scottish Equity Partners (U.K.). Other new investors participating in the financing included ABN AMRO Capital (NL), Avalon Ventures (U.S.), Credit Lyonnais Private Equity (FR) and Sitka Health Fund VCT (U.K.).
All of the company's major existing shareholders also made further investments including; The Merlin Biosciences Fund LP (U.K.), West Deutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (Germany), GeneChem Management of Montreal (Canada), Temasek Holdings (Singapore), Lloyds Development Capital (U.K.) and Technomark Medical Ventures (U.K.).
The funds will be used to generate phase II data, in several solid tumor indications, with the company's lead "oncolytic cancer vaccine" as well as Phase II data with its lead "dendritic cell vaccine" ...
