Venture stock among best performers, climbs to $25
Venture Stores Inc.'s stock traded at a new high Monday, hitting the $25-per-share mark seven months after it began trading at $10 a share.
Retail industry analysts are applauding the stock's performance and are predicting the company's strong earnings will cause the stock to continue its climb.
The discount store's stock has jumped dramatically since the company was spun off from May Department Stores Co. in November.
May distributed 16,046,900 shares of Venture common stock to its shareholders of record Oct. 15. The stock began trading on Oct. 4.
