Belfast has been rated the best place to live in the UK in a Europe-wide quality of life survey published last week.

Pharmaceutical firm Pfizer asked citizens in nine countries to rate their levels of satisfaction with various aspects of their lives. The aim was to define the factors that contribute towards a 'healthy neighbourhood'.

Researchers surveyed ten major cities and their surrounding rural areas.

Respondents were asked to rate the importance of 25 factors and to grade their level of satisfaction with each. The factors included the environmental aspects of a healthy neighbourhood, transport coverage, thoughful planning for pedestrians and …
