2003 OCT 8 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ) announced an immunization reminder program to help educate new parents about crucial vaccinations for their infant children.
New parents in the greater Newark area will receive automated reminder phone calls about age-appropriate immunizations for their children.
The program is a public-private collaboration between Horizon BCBSNJ, Project Vaccinate, a state-funded immunization program, and Eliza Corp., a company specializing in speech recognition technology for the healthcare industry. Managed under the insurer's World Class Clinical Quality initiative, Horizon BCBSNJ will lend project management resources to the program. The insurer will not receive any information about patients participating in the program.
Using Eliza's technology, the program will make automated immunization reminder calls to parents of infants during a child's first 18 months. The phone calls will inform parents about important age-appropriate immunizations and advise them on how to learn more about necessary ...
