2003 OCT 8 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- GeneMax Corp. (GMXX) announced an amended contractual agreement with Molecular Medicine BioServices, Inc., of San Diego, California, for the production of its clinical vector for delivery of the TAP genes (transporters associated with antigen processing) used in GeneMax's lead product, an immunotherapy aimed to treat a wide variety of carcinomas that include lung cancers, liver cancers, kidney cancers, head and neck cancers, breast cancers, melanomas, prostate cancers, colorectal cancers, and cervical cancers.
The new production contract incorporates the use of a proprietary adenovirus-based vectoral technology from Crucell, which was licensed and announced by GeneMax in August 2003.
The new contract is based on production of sufficient vaccine to conduct the balance of preclinical work as well as phase I/IIa clinical trials. The contract defines that the product is to be tested by an independent laboratory. ...
