Israel boosts West Bank barrier

Its Cabinet approved an extension of the security fence that will sweep around Jewish settlements in the area. But the extension will have big gaps to address U.S. concerns on the barrier. The U.S. has threatened to cut loan guarantee funding over the fence. Also, terror group Hamas said an unnamed Arab state had foiled an Israeli plot to assassinate several of its political leaders.
