SANTA FE -- The tribes call their casinos economic miracle-makers. Restaurants blame them for empty cash registers. Fraternal clubs, horse racetracks, resorts and bars want the salvation of a slot machine. And church groups say all this gambling will lead New Mexico to ruin.

Next week, they'll get a chance to tell it all to legislators.

On Monday and Tuesday, the four House committees that handle gambling bills will take the unusual step of meeting together in the House chamber to hear testimony on the good, the bad and the ugly of gambling.
