PHOENIX -- The honeymoon for the Arizona Diamondbacks officially started Tuesday night. The question is, how quickly will it end?
The inaugural season of the expansion Diamondbacks got off to an impressive start with more than 47,000 fans entertained by celebrity singers -- including everyone's favorite crooner, Alice Cooper -- a roof opening to reveal fireworks and game-ball delivering sky divers.
And all that was before the game.
On the field, the Diamondbacks were less a hit, losing 9-2 to the Colorado Rockies. The raucous standing-room-only crowd, however, hardly seemed to notice, enthusiastically cheering nearly every play -- good or bad -- by the hometown team.
