A storm that dumped at least 5 inches of snow in some areas caused schools to close and made roads slick today throughout Eastern and Southern New Mexico.
"There's about a foot of snow blown atop the north-side sidewalk. That's what I'm fixing to go deal with," said Keith Worm, owner of the Kripple Creek Restaurant in Clovis.
"Of course it's still snowing, so it's putting it back as quick as I can sweep it out," he said.
Schools were closed in Capitan, Clovis, Dora, Floyd, Fort Sumner, Melrose, Portales, Roswell and Ruidoso. Classes were delayed for two hours in Artesia, Dexter, Hagerman and Mescalero.
