Pentagon officials have decided to rescind a directive from the commanding general at Fort Bliss, Texas, that denies full military honors to veterans and retirees not buried in the fort's national cemetery.
U.S. Rep. Joe Skeen, a Picacho Republican, had asked the secretary of the Army to rescind the policy, which denies full military honors for veterans buried in Southern New Mexico.
