CATCHING UP WITH ... Buddy Robertson

New schools. New sports. More athletes. More rules.

These are the major changes Buddy Robertson has seen since he began working for Albuquerque Public Schools in 1965. The job has gotten tougher. It's more than X's and O's.

"Everything has become a lot more complex," said Robertson, the APS athletics director.

Robertson, 60, has seen many fine seasons of fall sports' action. But this year could be one of the better ones, especially considering that Albuquerque has a few schools that could challenge for the state football crown.
