A knife-wielding woman who held officers at bay for about two hours was finally taken into custody but not before Albuquerque police fired four bean-bag rounds at her, authorities said.

"She's lucky to be alive," Albuquerque police Sgt. Cornel Heitzman said. "She put herself in great danger threatening officers as she did."

Natalie Richardson, 34, was booked Sunday night into City-County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and two counts of aggravated assault, according to a Metro Court criminal complaint.
