When John Robinson walked into Ted Iacenda's home, the high school star from Newhall, Calif., couldn't resist the famed coach's alluring persona.

When Robinson walked out, Iacenda said, there was no doubt he would enlist as one of Robinson's Southern California Trojans.

"He's the reason I went to USC," Iacenda said. "No. 1, when he's in your house, you're thinking, 'Wow, that's John Robinson in my house.' Two, they had just won the Rose Bowl my senior year (in high school). Three, he's a very personable guy. He talks to you and makes you want to be around him.
