VOTE '99

By 9 p.m., Vince Griego was pretty sure he'd won re-election to the City Council for a sixth four-year term.

The preliminary results were in from all 21 precincts in his District 2, and Griego was leading Michael Guerrero, the closest of his four challengers, by 65 votes.

More than 80 people family, friends, campaign workers were at his house in the 5000 block of 12th Street Northwest. The gathering included City Councilors Tim Kline, Alan Armijo and Adele Baca-Hundley, plus County Commissioner Ken Sanchez and state Rep. Rick Miera.
