The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority has reached the milestone of 3,000 families it has helped buy a first home through its HELP program.

The program is a second mortgage that allows for down payment and closing cost assistance coupled with the Mortgage Finance Authority Mortgage$aver program. The current 30-year, fixed, below-market Mortgage$aver rate is 6.87 percent.
