Poetry is coming to the masses this month, and we don't mean rap.

Snippets of verses written by a range of poets from the local to the famous will be popping up on parking meters, buses and billboards, brightening the gritty urban landscape of Albuquerque like so many spring flowers interrupting the winter gray.

Why the random acts of rhymes? It's National Poetry Month, one of those events that we're not sure who decreed but celebrate anyway. (Like National Frozen Foods Month, which was in March.) Magnifico!, the city-backed arts group, and a host of corporate sponsors are marking the event with …
