Lobo Damion Walker is not a morning person.

So anyone waking Walker up at 5 a.m. to run sand hills had better have a good reason.

Turns out coach Fran Fraschilla had one when he required Walker's attendance at these drills last summer.

It has taken awhile to materialize, but six months later the reward has arrived and not a minute too soon.

The Lobos credit the conditioning they got at those early morning drills for the fact that they've been able to make a late charge at the Mountain West Conference title.
