Bank of America's fourth-quarter profits jumped 32 percent as big customer fees helped the nation's second-largest bank meet Wall Street's expectations.

BankAmerica earned $2.12 billion, or $1.23 a share, up from $1.6 billion, or 91 cents a share, in the last quarter of 1998.
