In a rematch of the 1997 championship game, the La Cueva Bears were to try for a third time to grab their first Class AAAA baseball title. And a familiar foe is the last team standing in their way.

The defending champion Eldorado Eagles, the team that beat the Bears 11-3 for the 1997 crown, were to seek their sixth state championship when they met La Cueva in the final today at the Sports Stadium.

The La Cueva Bears advanced to the finals by beating a previously undefeated Rio Grande team 10-5. The Bears (20-5) took advantage of four errors and three Ravens wild pitches in the third and fourth …
