SBA commits to helping vets own businesses.(Business)

The U.S. Small Business Administration in New Mexico is stepping up its efforts to help veterans start or expand businesses.

"We want to help our vets be more aware of what's available to them," said Edward Cadena, acting director of the New Mexico office. "There are options out there."

The SBA's national office recently signed a partnership agreement with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Association of Small Business Development Centers.

The agreement calls for the SBA, the VA and the centers to publicize programs and services available to veterans. It was …
