Somebody the New Mexico Scorpions, their coach, their owner, the WPHL or some combination of the above is about to get a black eye.

With the controversy over whether head coach Tony Martino made cash payments to former player Brad Englehart in violation of the WPHL's $10,000 per week salary cap headed to court Wednesday morning, we can expect all the laundry (dirty and otherwise) to be aired.

The WPHL, which punished the Scorpions for the alleged violations by fining them $50,000 and docking them 34 points in the standings (effectively eliminating them from the playoffs), said it wouldn't try this case in the court of public …
