Voters hand the winners a daunting challenge

Across the nation, in state after state, including New Mexico, voters revealed their deepest divisions Tuesday and, incredibly, left the fate of America teetering in the balance of the tightest races in recent history. Regardless of who eventually claims victory, the winners will face the uncomfortable prospect of determining how to lead without a leader's mandate.
