Start times for students won't change at Valley and Manzano high schools next school year, nor for the elementary and middle schools that feed into them, Albuquerque Public Schools Superintendent Brad Allison has announced.

Complex bus and sports schedules, lack of lighted practice fields and some negative community reaction influenced the decision, district spokesman Rigo Chavez said Monday.

In a news release, Allison said the idea to switch elementary and high school start times in the Manzano and Valley clusters would affect bus schedules all over the city.
