Fearless factor: I am getting a Ph.D. in physics and have been conducting research in a nickel mine in Canada. I take an elevator a mile down into the earth, walk through a tunnel nearly as long to get to the lab, and don't come back up till the end of the day. It's very stressful, but I'm totally obsessed with science, so it's exciting work.
Fun factor: I used to be a couch potato, and now I'm proud to say that I'm a triathlete. At first, training was miserable, but as I got into shape, it became enjoyable. It feels good to have people clapping for me when I cross the finish line ... and to know my legs look great in a short skirt!
