Long likes the Lobos' rivals on tough side.(Special Section)

There are two things you can say about the New Mexico State Aggies and the New Mexico Lobos that are based on gut feelings, not on facts.

1. NMSU would be a weaker program without coach Tony Samuel and without Samuel the Aggies would not be able to compete with UNM.

2. UNM would be a weaker program without coach Rocky Long, but without Long the Lobos would still be able to compete with the Aggies.

That means if you are a Lobos fan who likes a little mystery and doubt stirred into the UNM/NMSU rivalry, then you should be glad Samuel is coaching the Aggies.

Long is kind of glad.
