Only one Clark County School District campus is likely to be designated persistently dangerous under the state measure of the federal No Child Left Behind Act.
The state of Nevada has eight schools headed for that list, including Gibson Middle School in Las Vegas. That's about 1 percent of all Nevada public schools. The statistic puts Nevada among the few states with any schools where student safety is a concern: 44 states and the District of Columbia report no unsafe schools at all.
