The Pacific's part in global trade.
01 JULY 2003, NADI, FIJI - The Pacific Island Countries Trade Agreement (PICTA), a free trade agreement between Pacific Island Forum member states, looks set to make meaningful contributions on the region's behalf.
It looks set to be the region's response to globalisation and will act as a vehicle out of which Pacific Island Forum member states can draw strengths and positive advantages in terms of trade benefits. And the Pacific Island governments and their people need not fear anything as PICTA and the Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations (PACER) will enable the region to keep abreast with world trade.
