Pepsi Bottling cuts '03 profit view
The world's No. 1 Pepsi bottler expects Q3 profit at the low end of its 66-70 cent range due to weak volume. Pepsi Bottling cut its '03 forecast to $1.55-$1.57 a share vs. views for $1.60. Shares fell 10%. No. 2 bottler PepsiAmericas backed its view for 9%-11% profit growth in '03. PepsiCo backed its '03 profit outlook.
Food service spices up Heinz Q2
The food products firm met views for a 9% gain to 51 cents a share ex-items. Revenue rose 3.1% to $1.9 bil, aided by a 7.6% boost in food service and a 4.1% rise in consumer sales driven by ketchup and Classico pasta sauce. Those, along with strong growth in Asia, offset weakness in frozen foods. It backed full-year sales views of 3%-4% growth.
