Difference In Deficits
With regard to "Handy Bludgeon" (Editorial, Thursday), you forgot to reveal why a $38 billion California state budget deficit is cause to remove Gov. Gray Davis from office, while a projected $405 billion federal budget deficit should be seen as economic stimulus.

Worm Turns On Microsoft
"In Need of Justice" (Editorial, Tuesday) hit the nail on the head, but you failed to name the most egregious culprit in these devastating Internet attacks that cause great financial damage. Microsoft has consistently brought to the market software that is flawed and unsafe and allows security compromises. If Microsoft programmers aren't technologically proficient enough to detect the holes in the software prior to release, maybe they can hire an 18-year-old for this task.
It is time for those harmed by virus or worm attacks to seek remedy from Microsoft. When Microsoft starts compensating them, maybe it will put a much safer and reliable product on the market.
