Wall Street analysts and company officials went back and forth during a recent conference call, wrestling with the big questions:
When is the new Korn record coming out? And how was OzzFest this year?
The call was Hot Topic Inc.'s second-quarter earnings release. And the answers -- "hopefully in November" and "Let's ask our CFO" -- actually matter.
The mall-based retailer sells all things trendy to teens looking for a little rebellion at a reasonable price.
Gear emblazoned with logos from Detroit shock rockers Insane Clown Posse shares floor space with Jimi Hendrix T-shirts and trucker hats. You'll find pretty much everything for the aspiring hipster, goth, punk or emo kid in the 'burbs.
And unlike merchandise at some rival stores, it's selling fast.
