Toyota's new Prius helps park car
The No. 1 Japanese automaker said its redesigned Prius, which has a hybrid gasoline-electric engine, uses sensors and automated steering to help guide the car into parking spots. Toyota aims to sell 76,000 of the new cars worldwide by the end of next year. The new Prius went on sale Monday in Japan.
Chrysler unveils incentives for '04
The automaker, which admits it usually follows the lead of rivals in pricing, launched a broadside by offering rebates of up to $3,000 and 5-year no-interest loans on most of its '04 lineup. It blamed its $1.1 bil loss last quarter in part on such incentives, but some say it has little choice amid cutthroat pricing.
