Attorneys for Housing for Independent People (HIP), San Jose, Calif., announced the terms of a settlement in the case of Moreau and Housing for Independent People v. Kemp and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

"This settlement means that people with symptomatic AIDS and ARC are considered to be disabled for purposes of obtaining federal subsidies. It also means that the HIP housing project, known as Casa de los Amigos, will now be eligible for federal funding," Grace Shohet explained.
