HOPE ECKERT, a recent graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law, has started her own law practice at 814 Marquette NW. She will focus on civil rights as well as juvenile and criminal defense.
FELIPE ALFONSO has opened Myotherapy Inc., a medical massage practice, at 5800 McLeod NE, Suite C4. Alfonso was a family practitioner in Cuba for eight years before emigrating to the United States in 1995.
He recently obtained his massage therapy license from Albuquerque's Body Dynamics School of Massage Therapy and plans to specialize in medical massage. He said his formal medical education will allow him to treat muscular pain and dysfunction.

DEBORAH S. GILLE has joined Eastham Johnson Monnheimer & Jontz as an associate attorney.
Gille has a degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where she was lead articles editor for the New Mexico Law Review and received the Lexis Award for Outstanding Student in 1999.
Before joining Eastham Johnson, she was a clerk for Judge Mark B. McFeeley, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of New Mexico. She will work in litigation, securities arbitration and bankruptcy reorganization.
LISA MIA KIRSCHNER has been named an art director at Signal Creative, an Albuquerque advertising agency. Kirschner joined Signal in March 1999 as a graphic designer and prepress specialist. She works on both print and Web projects for clients ranging from Lovelace Health Systems and Intel Corp. to EduNation.
