Digital Generation Systems Inc. has turned a profit for the past two quarters, but few outside the company seem to know or care.
For its success in moving into the black, the San Francisco-based company has been "rewarded" with the cold shoulder from analysts. None follows the company, says Chief Executive Matt Devine.
"They say, "You look a little bit like other (companies) but nobody looks like you,' which makes them unwilling to follow the company," he said.
DG Systems digitally broadcasts audio and video programs via its wireless satellite system and the Internet.
DG can be called an Internet broadcasting company, but it's not a broadcaster. Its clients include radio stations, media companies and ad agencies. Radio stations and other media companies hire DG to send programs such as the Rush Limbaugh radio show to radio stations for broadcast.
