The folks at U.S. Oncology Inc. can pat themselves on the back for staying in business, even though that business has been a little rocky of late.

The physician practice management firm is one of the country's largest providers of cancer care. Every day, 15% of cancer patients seeking care walk into a U.S. Oncology site.

The company's network includes 850 doctors and 450 sites in 26 states. Its holdings include 72 com

prehensive cancer centers, which resemble large factories and offer everything from chemotherapy and blood work to radiation treatments.
