People these days are turning to the Internet for everything from antiques to advice. So it's no surprise that they're also going online to find religion.
For those who no longer feel the need or have the ability to attend church, prayers, sermons and more can come to them via the Internet. Whether you're Hindu or Catholic, Jewish or Muslim, there is a Web site for you - and some sites even purport to cover them all.
Beliefnet.com is an online Mecca of spirituality. The site's home page neatly lists religions from Buddhism to Judaism and offers spirituality "tools" to help you find a house of worship, or search the Bible.
There's information about meditation, prayer circles and a religion Q&A. Beliefnet.com also offers community discussions and special features that enable individual churches, synagogues and mosques to build their own Web sites.
New York-based Beliefnet is a for-profit, venture-backed site with management that comes mostly from the publishing industry. The site has pop-up ads and links to shopping for books, travel and music.
