Crude oil prices tumbled on Wednesday despite a sharp fall in stockpiles and aninterest rate cut by the Federal Reserve, while cocoa futures slipped on selling by large commodity funds.

In other commodity markets, cattle futures regained some lost ground as concerns eased over mad cow disease, while wheat edged higher in a technical recovery from recent declines.
March crude oil fell 40 cents to $28.66 a barrel. Febru
ary heating oil fell 1.40 cents to 78.63 cents a gallon, and February gasoline fell 2.78 cents to 85.42 cents a gallon.
Traders said crude oil was weighed down by unexpectedly bearish weekly data on gasoline stocks.
