Investor's Business Daily
Technology might remain primarily a man's world, but don't tell that to some companies that have tried - and failed - to develop online businesses that cater to men.
Probably the best-known failure among this genre is TheMan.com. The online sitegenerated a lot of attention in its bid to be the "solutions re-source" to meet a man's every need. It closed down in December.
Then there's TheWoof.com, another site aimed at
men. It, too, shuttered in 2000.
Guyville.com has raised some modest private financing, but it's failed to catchthe eye of any venture capital funds.
