ROME, GA.*Former University of South Carolina standout Yaron Peters keyed a three-run sixth inning rally with a two-out, two-run homer, lifting the Rome Braves to a 4-2 rain-shortened victory over the Charleston RiverDogs on Tuesday.

With the win, Rome pulled within a game of the RiverDogs in the race for a potential Southern Division wild-card spot in the South Atlantic League playoffs.

The Braves (69-57 overall, 33-24 second half) took a 1-0 lead with an unearned run in the third against Charleston starter Nick DeBarr (11-6). Jonathan Schuerholz led off the inning with a triple. With one out, …
