Partnership weighs $9 million hotel expansion

The Holiday Inn -- Convention Center is considering a $9 million expansion to capture more convention business.

St. Louis Hotel Limited Partnership, based in Chicago, is attempting to take advantage of the expansion of the Cervantes Convention Center and the closing of the Sheraton St. Louis Hotel.

A plan under consideration, calls for 200 to 300 rooms to be added to the 297-room Holiday Inn -- Convention Center, which is immediately west of the Cervantes Convention Center. The hotel draws heavily from convention business but also has a steady corporate and tourist clientele. …
