U.S. stock funds see withdrawals
Investors pulled $414 mil from U.S. stock mutual funds in the week ended July 30, AMG Data Services said, ending four weeks of inflow. But small-cap growth took in $507 mil. Investors also pulled $1.1 bil from U.S. junk bond funds, the biggest outflow in over 10 months. Taxable bonds had $1.9 bil in outflow.
Pension fund report attacks NYSE
There are still serious conflicts of interest at the NYSE, according to a report by the Council of Institutional Investors. Among the report's suggestions: The NYSE board should meet the governance of listing firms, and disclose more about its relationship with Securities Industry Automation and Depository Trust Clearing, which the NYSE owns.
