2003 AUG 6 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- A statement on smallpox vaccinations for emergency physicians has been released by the AAEM/SAEM Smallpox Vaccination Working Group.
"On December 13, 2002, President Bush formally announced the national smallpox vaccination program. The plan involves vaccinating health care workers who would respond to possible smallpox cases, including emergency physicians," scientists in the United States report.
"Although not all aspects of the program are clearly established, it appears that vaccination of health care workers will occur in the near future," stated Gregory J. Moran at Temple University and fellow members of the AAEM/SAEM Smallpox Vaccination Working Group.
