P&G profit increased 13% in Q4
The consumer products giant beat views by a penny with 87 cents a share. Sales rose 7% to $10.92 bil, helped a lot by the weaker dollar. Procter & Gamble expects double-digit profit growth in fiscal '04 profit. Analysts expect $1.23, up 9.8%, in Q1 and a 10.5% jump to $4.49 in '04.
Newell earnings rose 8% in Q2
The household products firm met views for 42 cents a share. Sales rose 4% to $1.98 bil. But Newell Rubbermaid sees Q3 EPS of 40-44 cents and $1.60-$1.68 in '03 vs. views for 52 cents in Q3 and $1.79 for the full year. Newell fell 17% to a four-month low of 23.63.

United Online tops Q4, raises '04
